New Commission Announced with the Juneau Symphony!
The Juneau Symphony, under the direction of Bradley Hogarth, is commissioning me to compose the next installment of From Sea to Shining Sea, a series of orchestral works depicting the U.S. National Parks. This work will be about Glacier Bay National Park and the surrounding region of southeast Alaska. I plan to spend 4-6 weeks in Alaska in the summer of 2026 for performances on June 5 and 6 of 2027.

Upcoming Performances of Sky-Tinted Water throughout Minnesota in 2026
On October 4, 2025, the Bemidji Symphony premiered Sky-Tinted Water, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of Voyageurs National Park in Minnesota, and musically depicts scenes from the world-renowned boundary waters ecosystem, including rowing through reedy marshes, gliding through mirror-still waters, and witnessing the shimmering Aurora. The orchestra is accompanied by the sounds of the park: paddles rowing, loons calling, wolves howling, and mosquitoes buzzing. The piece will also be performed by the Rochester Symphony Orchestra on February 21, and the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra on April 12, 2026.
World Premiere of The Sacrifice of Prometheus with the Reno Philharmonic!
On March 22 2025, the Reno Philharmonic premiered The Sacrifice of Prometheus, which was inspired by my time as the Artist-in-Residence at Great Basin National Park in Nevada. The piece revolves around the story of the former oldest known, living, non-clonal tree in the world, a ~5,000 year old ancient bristlecone pine named Prometheus. The piece is scored for solo bass oboe (which represents the spirit of Prometheus), full orchestra, and electronics (which consist of musical renderings of biodata from the bristlecone pines themselves). It is the first piece in the US to be performed for solo bass oboe and full orchestra, and is the first piece for orchestra to feature musical renderings of biodata from plants (to my knowledge).
